Awesome experience, not for you if you don’t like getting dirty or hoping fast!
“Mark was an awesome guide. Visiting the village was very interesting. All around a blast. We have been to the Dominican 3 times and did an excursion each time.
This was the best and the only thing I would do differently is book the full day excursion instead of the half…. you get to drive up a mountain and visit a ranch on the full day tour.
If you’re contemplating shopping this…. just do it. And be sure to go with THIS company for a smaller group experienced!”
Great tour with really nice guide!
“The tour is from 8 to 12/1 and that is really enough. In this time you drive through a lot of different kind of places and will be able to get a nice view of the real dominican republic. It really is enough time to see everything you want.
The guide is so kind and shows you all kind of dominican places and habits in perfect english, french and spanish. Besides the racing with the good buggies its a really interesting tour with a lot of information about the locals. They really made a good trip.
The guide makes pictures of you if you want, so you dont have to care about it. We even drove on the highway with like 85 km/h. Really recommended!”
The best tour around
“We booked a 1/2 day tour. It ended up being only my wife and I following Charlie on a private tour. We got to see some absolutely astounding places. The farms, the villages, the beach, the mine, the market. Everything was super cool. A local even fed me some horse which was really good.
Do not do this if you want to stay clean. Definitely do this if you want to have a great time and go on a real adventure. You’ll see a lot and learn so much.
Also as they mentioned but no one seems to read, THE BUGGYS ARE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY. You will need to know how to drive a manual to take this tour, otherwise you’ll be in someone’s back seat.”
Wish I could give 10
“This was the absolute best excursion we went on and we did 3 of them. The tour was half a day and the guides were well educated with the culture. This is not an everyday tourist tour. They take you through the actual Dominican Republic, to actual towns with low tourism.
This tour makes us want to come back to the D.R. to do the full day. Tour guides Mark and Charlie, speak English and German, and Angela who picked us up was wonderful. Make sure you know how to drive a stick shift, as the dune buggies are VW transmissions.
I can’t give a high enough rating to tell you the experience was amazing. We can’t wait to return!!”
“This tour was so much more than I expected! Mark, our tour guide was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed getting out of the tourist area and having a chance to see the real Dominican Republic We got to visit a small local village, a general store and a limestone mine, and Macao beach.
Mark is very well informed and spent the time to educate us on customs, history and politics of the DR. And the ride in the dune buggy’s was really fun! Yes, you will get dirty, but it is well worth it! Mark takes photos along the way and sells them for a very reasonable $20.
This was probably the best experience I had during my visit to the DR! I definitely would recommend this trip.”
The BEST dune buggy excursion you will find…..
“This was our 2nd trip to the DR and our 2nd time doing the half day excursion. On this trip we had 8 friends with us and we knew this was a “must do”!! Our first time we had Charly and this time we had Mark. We absolutely love this excursion and have no complaints!
It was much more dusty this trip but we went prepared with bandanas so that helped! You may get mud or you may get dust, go prepared!!! If you go prepared and know how to drive a stick shift….you will have a GREAT time!! Highly recommend and this is the only excursion we will do!”
